Since 1993, Telligo has been a French specialist in themed holiday camps for children aged 4 to 18 years old. We are an independent company founded in 1993 by Cédric JAVAULT, general manager of the company, 40 years old, former pupil at the Polytechnic School and Olivier MOYNOT, 36 years old, graduate of the Higher Teacher training school, doctor in mathematics, and professor in preparatory class. Olivier has now left the company. The two founders were quickly joined by many other camp counsellors. It then became an NGO named "Altaïr", which offered scientific stays during the school holidays for young people. 2001 marks the true beginning of a very fast growth which leads "Altaïr" to become the leader in scientific holidays in France. In 2003, the company adopted the denomination of “Aventure Scientifique” and launched a first offer for the themed fieldtrips. In 2004, Aventure Scientifique started to diversify its topics; hard sciences were joined by natural sciences, social sciences, arts, storytelling etc… In 2006, Aventure Scientifique started offering a range of themed language camps, taking place both in England and Germany, with an emphasis on spoken English/German. In 2007, “Aventure Scientifique” eventually became Telligo. Telligo is the leader in scientific camps in France and in Europe. Around fourty employees are permanently working at our office in Bagneux, near Paris (France). Several hundreds of directors and camp counsellors are working for us during the holidays. Last year we accommodated more than 15,000 children. Our 20 year-long success is based on offering playful workshops with exciting topics to children who yearn for more learning! It is a method we also apply to our language camps. Our workshops take place every morning, featuring every kind of topic. We have created camps for children with very different tastes, ranging from Harry Potter to British Pop Music. Since summer 2007, Telligo has been the first company in France to offer a complete range of camps, that is athletic, sports, travelling, themed, and school support camps. Our specificity, though, is that all our camps have a theme, even if they are athletic or language camps. To give you an idea of our camps' variety, here comes a brief and incomplete list of our themes.
Science camps: Physics, Chemistry, Data processing, Astronomy and Space studies, Wildlife, Biology, Geology...
Humanities camps: Time travel, History, Writing, Storytelling, Fairytales, Superheroes...
Arts: Singing, Photography, Acting, Drawing…
Various: Video Game Academy, I.T., Cooking, Robinson Crusoe…
And, as you know by now, this does not even mention our language and sports camps. Our camps are cautiously conceived. They must abide by several rules in addition to the essential approval of the "Ministry of Youth and Sports". We are hard-and-fast on rooms comfort, environment quality, and general catering. Our supervision policy is to have one camp counsellor to five children (or six when the children are 15+). This is huge; as the French law imposes only one camp counsellor to twelve children. This supervision rate allows us to offer maximum safety for all the activities, to consider every camper’s individual best interests and meet them, and to offer our camp counsellors a very supportive frame of work. For the language camps that take place abroad, we used to only offer boarding camps. Since Spring 2013, we are offering homestay camps. This is a very new turn in our camps offer, and it illustrates very well how active and evolving we try and maintain our company. For these camps, we request that all our camp counsellors be perfectly bilingual with French and English as their two languages. Amongst the numerous things that set us apart from other camp companies in France is our commitment to keep parents informed about what happens during the camp. We do so by updating a private blog daily with news from the children and pictures of the day. Telligo is committed to continuously offer high quality camps and never yield an inch on safety or comfort. Our camp counsellors are key to our mission being realized. We hope you will be able to contribute to our work by making the kids spend the best holidays possible |
